Fetish23 a.k.a. Mikael Prey is probably the most seasoned still active swedish VJ to date. He stared working with photography, film and video in the 80’s inspired by Psychic TV, Derek Jarman, Kenneth Anger, William S. Burroughs, Geter Greenaway and others. Fetish23 likes mixing his own graphics and video clips with recycled/treated scratch material. Stylistically he describe his work as “using colorful layers of sweeping imagery containing subliminal, surreal contrasting shapes containing ambivalence and ambiguity, a synthesis of contrasts are standing in the center”.

He has performed at many of Stockolm’s clubs and venues and performed alongside the likes of Sven Väth, Ferry Corsten, Josh Wink, Geoff Gains, Sergey Sanchez, Desyn Masiello, Marco V., John ”00” Fleming, Chromeo, Axwell, Stonebridge, Adam Beyer, Andreas Tilliander, Håkan Lidbo, Jean Louis Huhta, Krister Linder, Calle Dernulf, Bruce Leenus and others. He has also done live visuals for the bands West End Girls, Sapporo´72/Mobile Homes, Cold Meat Industry-band, The Pain Machinery, Träd, Gräs och Stenar, the dance group As-sayf and others.

Fetish23 has a love for ambient, electronica, synth, industrial, digital hard core, world music and all crazy hybrids in between.

He will be performing in the VJ Jam in co-operation with the club The Eye at Nefertiti on friday february 5th.
