Gorki Glaser-Müller was born in Chile and came to Sweden as a 13 year old boy in 1986. He works as a freelance film maker and video artist. Gorki has a degree from School of Film and Directing at the University of Gothenburg and is also a train actor with a degree from Teaterhögskolan i Malmö. The last few years he has been working as pedagogue at School of Film and Directing, Academy of Music and Drama and Beckmans College of Design. He is currently working on his first feature film under the title “En gång om året”. Gorki is the initiator of Pixel Lab which is a project that gathers VJs, video artists, film makers and other who works with moving images. The purpose is to experiment with live mixed moving images.

“Moving images is the culture of the future. Never has the humanity produced so many moving images. But with the digital revolution another aspect has been added, the common man has never been able to distribute so many audiovisual creations as now. I’m thinking of the Internet foremost but even in the physical world where you can project or display on screens. The price of technology is ever decreasing and soon everybody will have a camcorder and a video projector. But the knowledge of what to do with this technology must exist, the gear it self isn’t enough. Pixel Lab wants to be cross disciplinary and spread joy and knowledge about different technologies, concepts and values to all who works or wants to work with moving images. That moving images are getting new usage is already a fact. And it’s in that way film and video art will develop. It’s funny to think that hundred year ago they were performing music live to moving images, now we’re performing moving images live to recorded music.”

Gorki is running Pixelvärk together with Mikael Wehner and Gorki is in charge of the workshops and lectures. You will see him throughout Pixelvärk with an enthusiastic smile on his face.
