Ben Cook

Artister / Ben Cook

At 8 years old Ben bought his first record – the Ghostbusters theme tune 7 inch with gatefold sleeve featuring limited edition pop-up ghost. It was awesome. Next day he played it in school assembly. The roof flew off. It was his best gig for years.

Eleven years later, from 95-98, he started organising and DJing at club nights in Brighton when Jungle and Electro Breaks was all anyone cared about. Since then he’s been tearing up dancefloors all over London, Los Angeles, and most importantly Stockholm with his monster bass bombs, dynamite electrodisco, and glitchy sextech. He owns several records which will rip your clothes clean off. The military are interested.

Alongside the music, Ben is a member of the VJ collective Instructions who recently received high acclaim for their performance at the international Festival of Visual Sound in Tallinn.

In his spare time he runs a design studio in London.

Ben’s favourite record this week is ‘I Want To Break Free’ by Queen.

Ben will DJ at the opening party at Landet on october 5th.
