Glasgow based VJ Simon Richardson, alias Vitascope, has been working at
clubs since 1994. He is normally usng three 16 mm projectors and has
developed a Lo-Fi aesthetic where the jumpy projectors, the holes the
projector lamp burns to the film if the projectors suddenly stops, the
rhythm created by a looped film, the frames that becomes visible when the
films slips out of track and the analogue feeling become important. By
taking advantage if sudden mistakes and accidents Vitascope is able to
create growing and organic patterns and as he says himself, an expanded
cinema inside your brain.
