Artist presentation: Bopa
Anna “Bopa” Boberg is a swedish VJ that lives and works in London. She has been listed as one of the 10 best VJs in the world. Anna will do a presentation of her work at ABF, ateljé 3, on saturday january 30th [Google Map]. This event is free of charge.

Workshop: Modul8 – The Basics
VJ stands for Video Jockey or Visual Jockey and is a way of performing moving images live to music. It’s also a great start if you want to get in to video art and make video installations since you learn a lot about what you can and can’t do with the video format. This workshops uses Modul8, a VJ software for the Mac that has a short learning curve. But PC users, don’t get discouraged! Many things you learn in these workshops can be applied to any other VJ software on the market. This workshop will be held by local VJ heroes Andreas Apelqvist and Dan Nordgren from Startsladd. Artist presentation / Cinemix:
Johan Söderberg
Johan Söderberg will showcase different audiovisual techniques, show examples from his own portfolio and present his new program at the University of Dalarna. The lecture will be held during Cinemix in the Gothenburg filmfestival’s tent. The lecture will be preceded by a short presentaion of Pixelvärk. Read more here.

Lecture: Audiovisual collaborations
This lecture is held by artist Ilan Katin from Berlin. Using examples of demos he has collected from other artists, he will present several approaches to a/v collaborations. He will demonstrate a case study of a collaboration he has been working on since 2004 called Lance Blisters. He will open one of the Modul8 projects he has used for one of the songs and go into detail about how it was created, how the actual clips were created and how he structured Modul8 to get what he wanted. The lecture will end with Ilan performing the visuals to the audio track. The lecture is 30-45 minutes and will be held at ABF, ateljé 3 [Google Map].

The Pixelvärk VJ Jam
The VJ jam at Nefertiti is a collaboration with the Club The Eye and Swedish VJ Union. You will see VJs as Morrsken, Lysbang, Fetish23, The Midi Thief, Startsladd and our guest from Berlin, Ilan Katin. The DJ for the night is Tricksie from Berlin.

Linnea “Morrsken” Forslund is one of the top swedish VJs and co-founder of the Swedish VJ Union. She will give a presentation of her work and how she does it at ABF, ateljé 3, on Saturday 11:00-12:00 [Google Map]. This event is free of charge.

Workshop: Modul8 – Advanced
