ADVANCED MODUL8 WORKSHOP

We are very proud to present the Modul8 workshop with artist Ilan Katin from the Garagecube team, the makers of Modul8. This is a mid level / advanced workshop so you will need some basic knowledge to attend this workshop and make the most of it. Either try to catch the Modul8 workshop for beginners or download the demo version of Modul8 and read the manual and play around with it for a bit. The Modul8 software works on Macs only.

These are things you should know before entering:

  • How to import media.
  • Create several layers.
  • Change the media in the different layers using the keyboard and/or mouse.
  • Enable output when the computer is connected to a monitor/projector.

This is what Ilan will cover in the workshop:

  • Creating compositions on the fly.
  • Using modules. BPM (master) in combination with BPM router (master).
  • Introduce other modules.
  • Creating a basic module.
  • MIDI device mapping.
  • Sound Analysis.
  • Rendering a movie.

And if there’s time left:

  • Basic concepts of using DMX + lighting.
  • Controlling a light using Modul8 + DMX module + 1 lamp.
  • Output a wide composition spanning over three projectors using the TripleHead2Go device.

We have 9 computers and we’re putting 2 people on each computer, so 18 people is our max capacity. The workshop will be in english and will be held at ABF on saturday feb 6th at 14:00.

ABF is located on Södra Allégatan 1B [Google Map]. The exact room will be revealed to the accepted applicants. The workshop is free of charge. Please fill out the form below to apply.
